Antique Cast Bronze by Clarke & Co

Here we have a magnificent cast bronze 19th century sculpture.

This item would have originally been a door stop made by the company Clarke & Co. For whatever reason someone has cut the base and top from the item just leaving the actual sculpture itself! I am assuming they wanted to mount it upon something or sit it on a desk  or mantle.  It is a shame as this is a rare item, I have found the sales history of a complete one from an online auction house, on the complete one you can see the manufacturers name on the base part CLARKE & CO.  Oddly the auction house listed it and sold it as cast iron, I am not an expert of anything but it is not cast iron. The colour is that of bronze, it feels like bronze, it is the weight you would expect bronze to be and just to check I have not got insane I tested it with a good magnet, Iron would of course be magnetic however this is not magnetic at all.. it is in my opinion cast bronze. I have screenshot images of the other item, I can not use them on Ebay as they belong to the auction house but I can send them via Ebays message system if you ask alternatively some digging on the Internet should eventually give you the same result as I could only find one sold.

Condition: It is lovely, it looks magnificent, It currently sits at the back of my desk and is a pleasure to be the custodian of it until it sells.   As I have already said it has been cut from a base and will not stand alone, it requires a wall to rest on or something to mount it on, it sits perfectly with something behind it as you can see in the images.

Questions welcome.
