What a great set of tools for making HUGE wooden bench screws (like the one shown in one of the photos, but it's not included in this auction).  Or other wood-threaded items.

This set produces big, wonderful 2.25 inch diameter screw threads. 

These very large screw boxes and taps are so scarce to find. And they are a matched set. 

There's even a sample that shows what the threads will look like. Soda can is for size comparison only.

Also included in the set is the correct large auger that can be used to drill the 2 in.hole for the tap.

The large auger's handle is patented March 20,1888, and made by P.S.&W. (Peck Stow, & Wilcox).

I've shown a closeup of the maker's stamp, but I'm not clear what it says.

This is a great, very scarce set.
