Victorian Ruby Red Glass Playing Cards Box with Gold Metal Trim Lid -Finial Knob

Vintage used condition.  Box is approx 6.5" by 3.5" ... 1.75" deep.  Compartments are 3" by 1.75" ... smaller than today's standard deck of cards.  No chips or cracks.  I believe the box was for 3 sets of playing cards, opening space between compartments.  First I thought maybe it held cigarettes.  Glass on lid is clear. Really nice piece.  Can easily be used as a trinket box to hold jewelry.  Finial knob on top is filigree with an open design.  See all the pics.
