Hunting Knife

12 ½” Long

7 ½” Carbon Steel, Drop-Point blade

The handle is solid aluminum.  I am guessing that the craftsman (probably from Germany) made a handle-mold and filled it with melted aluminum and placed steel the blade into the molten aluminum – using a jig to keep the knife in proper alignment – then he used a file to clean up and polish the handle.

And he did a GREAT JOB.

Nice solid feel – no wobble whatsoever.

NEVER USED – ORIGINAL EDGE

No finger guard – so if you are nto a collector but a user, figure something out – even a big rubbber band wrapped around the handle a few times might help to keep your finger from slipping onto the blade with a thrust (no problem with a chop)

The sheath is Mint – probably much newer than the knife – but a perfect fit (I think newer because there is no ‘shelf-wear” being shuffled around in a drawer or opened and closed as part of showing off your collection – I bought the collection of a “professional” knife collector – he ran some knife collecting association)

it would slide perfectly over a 2 ½” wide belt.
