Apple iBook G4 A1054 Late 2004 1.2GHz 1.25GB RAM 30GB HDD AirPort SuperDrive

The A1054 spec is from late '04 with a 12.1" display, the 1.2GHz single-core PowerPC CPU, a 30GB HDD, maxed out RAM (1.25GB), AirPort Extreme and a SuperDrive.

This example is in overall good shape with the expected cosmetic wear for a 20 year old device.

There are some light scuffs and scratches, but no cracks, gouges, breaks or evidence of drop damage.

The keyboard displays typical oxidation for this model range.

The screen is beautiful, but the lid does not close perfectly and the two pads at the top are missing.

It is possible the screen was replaced but I see no other evidence of chassis intrusion.

An asset tracking tag is present on the bottom of the unit.

The computer turns on, boots and runs. The fan is much louder than my G3 under max load, probably due to the big performance jump between models (600-700MHz to 1.2-1.5MHz!). The hard drive is quite noisy but it's been noisy for 10+ years and still works fine.

The battery has been replaced. It bears all the correct OE identifying marks but I believe it to be an aftermarket unit based on assembly detail - the plastic casing looks identical, but the label is slightly translucent compared to the G3's battery and the font kerning is off.

The battery does NOT hold charge.

Original power adapter included.

The drive has been wiped to DoD spec and a fresh file structure and copy of OSX 10.4 were written to the disk.

10.4 Tiger is unused and ready to go.
