Franz Welz Tango Art Deco Art Glass Vases Czech Hand Blown Blue Cased Glass w/ Black Rim c. 1930s Married Pair

This is a great pair to add to a Czech glass collection or as an introduction to the world of Czech glass. The bases are slightly different. One is rounded and one is squared off. Both types of bases are known to be authentic.

Measurements:

#1: 6 5/8" H x 3 1/2" W x 3 1/2" D
#2: 6 7/8" H x 3 3/8" W x 3 3/8" D

Condition:

Excellent antique condition. No noticed chips or damage. There are some flaws indicative of the hand-made process such as small bubbles, a dark straw mark on the base of one vase, and some striations of color in the glass. The black rims have some variability. The vases were used so there is some residue inside from past bouquets but should be easy to remove with a soak. Normal wear for age. Please see all photos.

Background from 20th Century Glass:

"A superb 1930's Czech/Bohemian red blown glass vase with applied black glass rim. This is a known shape made by Franz Welz. Known as "mono-coloured" or "tango" glass, this technique was developed by Loetz around 1914."
