Oya is an osha. She is the goddess of the strong winds and the tornadoes, of the sparks, the storms and the storms. She is the queen of the dead and

 the guardian of the cemetery and together with Obba and Yewa form the trilogy of the dead (orishas living in the cemetery). It is invoked to save oneself

from death or to remove the presence of a dead from the living.

Oya is wise, a fierce warrior and possesses a violent and impetuous character. When he falls on one of his children, he only dances warlike dances.

 She was Shango's wife and she accompanied him to the war, going with an army of spirits and fighting with sparks and two swords.

Her nine-colored dress is shaken with her war cry. She is the only woman warrior of the Yoruba pantheon.

Its colors are brown and white. Their number is 9.

It is syncretized with the Virgin of the Candelaria and with Santa Teresa. Its days of celebration are the 2 of February and the 15 of October.

Fue esposa de Shango y lo acompañaba a la guerra, acudiendo con un ejército de espíritus y peleando con centellas y dos espadas. Su vestido de nueve colores se agita con su grito de guerra. Es la única mujer guerrera del panteón yoruba.

Sus colores son el marrón y el blanco. Su número es el 9.
