Eric Dickerson couldn't be stopped. Dickerson rushed for four first half touchdowns as the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Denver Broncos 55-23 at the Hoosier Dome. The Colts were up 21-0 at the end of the first quarter, and 45-10 at halftime. Dickerson finished with 159 yards on 21 carries and the four touchdowns. Chris Chandler completed 10 of 13 passes for yards and one touchdown while Gary Hogeboom completed 1 of 2 passes for 53 yards and one touchdown. Albert Bentley, getting most of the carries in the second half, rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries and also scored a touchdown. John Elway completed 15 of 27 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown. With the game out of reach Gary Kubiak completed 12 of 16 passes for 138 yards and two fourth quarter touchdowns.
