Welcome to my ebay store

This is one of three dolls I am selling for a neighbor who brought these with her from her native Okinawa to the US when she arrived in the 1970s. Most likely as to materials and workmanship I would date these earlier, 1940s to 1950s possibly. Legs are stuffed with hard excelsior (wood shaving), shoes are rubber slippers, fabrics are close to mid century style and coloring.

She is a gorgeous woman with an updo of silk thread hair with a gold ornament. She holds a fabric wrapped box. These dolls are later versions of centuries old Japanese Hina Matsuri (Girls Day) dolls/Ningyo.
Beautifully painted facial details, individual fingers, a stockinette type material for heads and hands.  No issues. Black laquered display stand.
No case, absolutely beautiful details. See the other listing I have for a pair, man and woman who are on tatami style matt stands. They are definitely meant to be a couple.
When UPS is available and cheaper than USPS I will use that and let you know.
Ships from my smoke free home.
