This listing is for a well preserved 19th century Tureen base / small platter by Ashworth Bros Hanley

decorated in the classic willow pattern which has been hand coloured.

made in Hanley, Staffordshire by Ashworth Brothers and dates to around the 1880s.

Ashworth Brothers was founded in 1860 when George Ashworth bought out his former partner Francis Morley. They remained in business under that name until the late 1960s when it was renamed Mason's Ironstone.


The base is stamped Ashworth Bros, Hanley around a crown, the mark they introduced around 1880 with the word England being added from 1891 onwards.
