Brown transfer printed illustration ‘ A Gentleman in Khaki ‘ by Richard Carlton Woodville and extracts from the famous poem   ‘ The Absent Minded Beggar ‘  by Rudyard Kipling. Written specially for the second Boar War 1899-1902.

Kipling along with Sullivan from the Gilbert and Sullivan Partnership and the Daily Mail began a movement which raised thousands of pounds for impoverished Soldiers and their families who fought in the Boar war.  ( Facinating information on the internet ).
