Here we have a volume two of the latin language version of Livy’s history of rome from its founding 753bc to 9bce. Titus Livius wrote 140 or 142 “books”covering that time period, (only 35 or 45 remain known, at least until someone finds a few more somewhere), This is volume 3. of a 7 volume collection and covers Livy’s books 15 to 23. This book is printed in London by Tonson and Watts. (They were the printers who first printed the beggars opera in 1728.)

This books binding is tight and beautiful, all the pages ate complete, some tanning and toning throughout , significant tanning or discoloration at lower outside corner, heaviest at end of book , see photos. The discoloration does not affect the text. No big splotches from foxing , see photos. The cover shows wear along edges, some separation of cover layers which does not affect the integrity of the binding. along edges and corners . Front cover looks old and sged, see photos. There are several other separations of the covers layers , again see photos. Corners are bumped.
