Piero Fornasetti Fleming Joffe Porcelain Recipe Plate, Dragon Lizard-Au-Feu, 1960s.

This rare Piero Fornasetti porcelain plate is from a series of fourteen made for the Fleming Joffe company in New York City.  It is titled Dragon Lizard-Au-Feu, and like the other plates in the series of fourteen has a charming but preposterous recipe.

Diameter: 10 inches

The Fleming Joffe company was a small leather goods company in New York.  Fornasetti was not the only famous artist this company worked with.  Andy Warhol produced ads and copy for them as well as decorating their show booths and showroom.  They also commissioned Ogden Nash to pair his bouncy text with Warhol's drawings.
