I am very pleased to offer a large collection of paintings and drawings by listed British artist ARCA (1920-2010). Many depict West Country landscapes and architecture, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset are all well represented. Some are unsigned but where that is the case I will provide a certificate of authenticity.
Here are two drawings, each depicting a view in Sherborne, Dorset.
The first is an architectural street scene, a distinctive stone arch and and surrounding buildings including a church. Titled lower left 'Sherborne Arch & Market'. Not dated, estimated to be 70s/80s.

The second is a view of Sherborne Abbey and surrounding houses from above. Titled lower left and dated November 1980 lower right.

Both drawings are in very good condition. Each measures 21 x 30cm.
The handwriting is clearly that of Cadman but as they are unsigned I will provide a COA.

Michael Cadman was a painter and art teacher born in Epsom, Surrey. He studied at Wimbledon School of Art and then at the Royal College of Art (1941-4). Between 1947 and 1968 he taught at Epsom School of Art. Cadman was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and of the St Ives Society of Artists. He exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Watercolour Society, the Royal Academy and had many solo exhibitions with prestigious galleries including The Canaletto Gallery and the Whitehall Galleries. His paintings were also reproduced on cards and calendars. Cadman said that design, colour and atmosphere were most important in his work which often featured architectural and hedgerow themes, water reflections and coastal scenes. There are many auction records for his watercolours, with prices up to £800 and many in the £200-300 range.
