This is Old Stock stockinette tubing is three inches wide and stretches to over 6 Inches wide! It is pure white even though the pictures make it look off-white. It is still in perfect condition even though it is very old.

You don't even have to sew to use this. First, you can leave it with the raw Edge and it still looks cute but also you can use fabric glue that you can get it hobby shops. Or sew if you choose!

It has many uses in the doll world, not only for making stockings which is obvious, but also even for making basic underwear and even simple smocks for old dolls until you can find the appropriate outfit for them. It can be done as simply as tacking a section of it over the shoulders or as elaborate as as stretching it over the shoulders and then again in the crotch if you want a onesie. To make socks for 8" dolls, for instance, cut 1 1/2" and then slit it down the middle. You can either use it like that after sewing the seam or sew the indentation in .

Probably the greatest use for it in a doll hospital is to put it over kid bodies and the kid arms and legs to keep the stuffing or whatever the legs are stuffed with from falling out. It protects against abrasion as well.

It makes great underwear for larger dolls but even diapers when Cut Property. Even when not hemmed in any place it really looks Charming! I used it on a doll for Underwear by not opening up the stocking it but just folding it at the waist and sewing up the sides. Lets the legs look nice and tidy. When I get a chance I'm going to add some pictures to this!

It is rather expensive if you only buy one piece but the more you buy the cheaper it gets. EBay has it set up so that you can find out how much cheaper it gets per yard if you buy more. The first 3 yards is 15.00. EBay even does the math for you so that if you put in how many yards you want it will tell you the exact amount that that comes to with the discount! Nice feature! Because you can always erase the amount that you put in!
