Here is a very unusual antique early 1800s two handled hand-made hand washing laver.

This cup has a most unusual base on it, and it is all original. It looks like it was designed to ensure that it does not tip over, so perhaps it was used on a ship or boat. In all my years I have never seen one like this before.

There are some breaks in the copper on the rim in a few places, which is not at all uncommon for these cups. There are no holes in it or other breaks at all. There are just a couple of minor dents, which you can see in the pictures.

This was hand made in Russia or somewhere in Europe.

Overall, it measures about 6 3/8" from the base to the top of the rim, about 5 1/4" across the top of the rim, and 6" across the round bottom of the base.

It holds more than 5 cups (42 ounces to be exact of your favorite beverage - soda, electrolyte water, mountain/spring water, beer, wine, whiskey, schnapps, iced tea, tap water, well water, or coffee.

It weighs approximately 1 pound 15 ounces.

Personally, I like to keep my antique metalware as-is, and so I usually don't care if an antique metal item is dirty, bent, twisted, cracked, etc. But that's a personal preference. As you can see, this item is quite filthy!

CONTACT (Communication is important):

  • Don't hesitate to email me at SethOnEbay with any questions.

SHIPPING (How and when you’re gonna get it):

  • Where possible I will try to combine multiple purchases into one shipment to save you on shipping costs.
  • Items shipped after payment clearing MY bank. Please note that this is not a full-time endeavor for me and I do have other responsibilities. I always try to get these items shipped ASAP, but it might take a few days or perhaps as much as a week for me to get your item shipped out. If you have a special situation and you want the item shipped ASAP, please arrange that with me BEFORE you bid or submit an offer for my acceptance. Please don’t hold me responsible for the shipping/carrier’s efficiency. I can only do what is in my control to get your treasure to you as soon as I possibly can.
  • I do not charge handling fees or for packing materials/supplies. The charge that I list for "shipping" is based upon many years' (since 1997) experience of selling/shipping on eBay, and I like to quote a fixed price in order to keep it simple. I generally ship items via USPS Priority Mail, but unless specifically mentioned in the listing then it would be my option to go for another method. If I know for certain that I'm sending it to you via Priority, then I'll usually indicate that in the listing.
  • Each item is packed carefully to ensure that it arrives in the same condition that it left. Flat memorabilia items such as photos and FDCs are put into hard envelopes and then put into a larger box. Fragile items are wrapped with cushioned material such as bubble wrap or spongy foam.

PAYMENT (You get the treasure, I get the moolah):

  • Payments not received within 3 days from end of auction - buyer risks right to purchase.
