ROYAL DANISH 50-KRONE BANKNOTES
The Original 11 August 2009 Issue
with 13 Consecutive Serial / Control Numbers
-
In 2009-2010 at a significant premium over face value, the Denmark National Bank issued a very few number of special bank folders containing its first issue of 11 August 2009 50-krone banknotes. These packs contained banknotes with low consecutive serial numbers and associated control numbers. The banknotes here are of that original 11 August 2009 issue. These notes are all signed by Nils Bernstein (Governor, 2005-2013) & Lars G. Sørensen (Head of Banking Services). They are not subsequently issued banknotes that are also dated 11 August 2009. The later issues were signed by a different Governor or Banking Services head.

As you can see in the scans, the 13 serial numbers are 000249A-000249N with each note having a matching control number running from A0091A-A0091N. These are extremely low numbers for the issue. No serial or control numbered notes ending with the letter "I" were issued to avoid confusing the number one ("1") with the letter "I". Make an Offer!

We received these banknotes in 2009 when the notes were issued. We ordered these consecutive banknotes direct from Denmark's Natonal Bank. They came in a white government folder with a red label that reads: "Den. Kgl. Mønt www.kgl-moent.dk" (Danish Royal Coin). Thirteen banknotes with low consecutive numbers from that folder are what is being offered. These notes are all pictured in the scans. The 50-krone banknote folder of which they were part of the contents is also scanned but is not included in this lot. The 50-knone banknote folder shown is for information purposes only.

The banknotes were designed to both represent the present by picturing the Sallingsund Bridge and the past with an image of the over five millenium old Skarpsalling Vessel.
