The reverse side of the coin is designed as a shield, which in Norse culture was called a targe. The shield bears a roaring bear head on the left and the iconic Germania Mint logo on the right. The logo displays the double-headed eagle with lightning bolts in its talons that authenticate the Mint mark. The reverse includes inscriptions of the year of issue, purity, and face value, such as “GERMANIA 2024,” “1 oz Ag 999.9,” and “5 MARK”.
