LACONIA (1912)

She was built by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd for the Cunard Line. She was a 18,098 GT ship with dimensions of 600'x71'. Twin-screw, 17 knots, quadruple expansion engines two masts and two funnels.

Maiden voyage: Liverpool-New York Jan. 20, 1912.

Transferred to Boston service.

Torpedoed and sunk 160 miles from Fastnet, Feb. 25, 1917, with the loss of 12 lives.
