An attractive oil painting of open countryside with sheep in the foreground.

This subject is typical of the paintings produced by the artist: landscapes in North Lincolnshire painted with an effective loose and impressionistic style.

CONDITION - The picture is in excellent condition. The frame is in good condition, if a little tired and dated with some faint marks. 


Clive Richard Browne was a painter, primarily of landscapes in oils, and a teacher of art.

He was born in Keelby, Lincolnshire in 1901; he was educated at St John's College, York; he studied at Grimsby School of Art and received private tuition from Herbert Rollett R.B.A. (1872-1932).

Member of North Lincolnshire Art Society.

Exhibited at RA, RCamA, RBSA, RBA, RHA, NS, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and at Paris Salon.

He lived at Watham, Lincolnshire for many years, then latterly at Horsforth in Yorkshire.

His works are in Usher Gallery, Lincoln
