A small Coddington magnifier.

The lens has little nibbles to the glass at both ends. These do not affect the image at the centre of the lens.

The simple brass handle was originally silver plated but most of the silver plate is worn away.

The cylindrical lens is convex at one end and flat at the other.

To make it easier to hold, there is a cord wound around the handle. This is has been neatly done. The cord is not brand new but is not original.

The sides of the glass cylinder are ground semi-opaque,

I cannot give an exact indication of the strength of the magnification. If this were compared to a lens in an opticians trial lens set it would be around a  number 14 or 15.
