Great arcade style joystick for your Apple II computer.  Both buttons operate independently with games that support two buttons like Karateka, Lode Runner and Choplifter to name a few.  For games that only require one button, the left button would be the operational button.

The joystick plugs directly into the joystick port on the back of your Apple IIe, IIc, or IIGS.  If you have an Apple II or Apple II+ you would need an adapter that converts the internal 16 pin joystick expansion to the 9-pin D-sub like on the back of the IIe. The joystick works in digital mode and is not an analog style joystick. It would not work with a game that only works with an analog joystick.

We use a standard Atari style 9-pin joystick cable, but the internals of the joystick contain a circuit board to convert the digital joystick to the analog requirements of the Apple II joystick port. We use a male to male adapter so the joystick can plug into the back of the various Apple systems properly. The IIGS and IIc have a recessed joystick port and it can cause issues with clearance on some joystick cables. By using the adapter we avoid this issue, and it allows us to use the very abundant Atari style cable. The pictures show a IIGS and IIe with our joystick and adapter plugged in, and without so you can see the difference in the recessed IIGS version versus the IIc port.

Size with case is 7" wide, 3 1/8" length, 4 1/4" tall (177.8mm wide, 79.4mm length, 108mm tall).

The bottom has four rubber feet to help it from sliding around.

Joystick cable is 5' long.

NOTE! If you have an Apple IIGS or any Apple II system running at a higher clock rate and you find the game doesn't seem to work properly with the joystick, you will want to reduce the operating speed to the normal 1MHz of the Apple II systems.  On a IIGS this is selectable in the IIGS control panel. Some games have joystick timing loops that require a standard 1MHz Apple system.
