・Dyed brown to prevent counterfeiting.
・Several stamps to prevent counterfeiting.
・These anti-counterfeiting measures were so successful that, during the Edo period, there were almost no counterfeiters.
・The penalties for counterfeiting bills were so severe that even family members were beheaded, hence very few counterfeit bills were produced.
