Up for sale we have a 1978 Gibson RD Artist in original Fireburst finish. The guitar is in very good used condition overall showing moderate cosmetic wear throughout with small and minor dings, dents, scuffs and scratches around both the body and neck. Some scratches on the back for a buckle.  Original active electronics was removed, and replaced with 2 Gibson Humbucking pickups. Honestly, the original Moog board produced terrible sound, and was completely useless. Electronics work perfectly now. The RD Artist features a 25 1/2" scale length, solid 2-piece Maple body, 5-ply black pickguard, gold hardware, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, TP-6 tailpiece with micro-adjustment saddles. 5-piece Maple set-neck, 22-fret Ebony fingerboard with large pearl block inlaid fret markers and gold Schaller tuning machines. The medium/slim neck features a C-shape profile measuring .780" deep at the first fret and .900" deep at the twelfth fret. The original medium/jumbo frets are present and show moderate play wear with wide flat crowns but have lots of life left in them. Notes ring clean and clear up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or buzzing. The truss rod is accessible at the headstock and turns smoothly in both directions, functioning as it should. The guitar comes in gig bag.
