Nintendo Switch Lite is a console specifically designed for playing Nintendo Switch titles in portable mode.

Nintendo Switch Lite has built-in controls and is more compact and lighter than the top-of-the-line Nintendo Switch version. It does not have the built-in stand for tabletop mode and, being a portable console, it does not transmit the image to the TV. For this reason, the package does not include a cradle or HDMI cable.

The other differences compared to the basic model Switch are a smaller display - with a diagonal of 5.5 - always with HD resolution 1280 x 720 pixels and in the absence of the Rumble HD vibration motors.

Switch Lite abandons the classic separate keys present on the original model, in favor of a more comfortable cross that guarantees better control of the game action. All software features and other functionality remain unchanged from Switch.

It's ideal for those who have plenty of opportunities to play on the go and also for those who want to enjoy online multiplayer or local wireless with friends and family who already own a top-of-the-line Nintendo Switch console.

Nintendo Switch Lite is compatible with all Nintendo Switch software that can be played in handheld mode, although there will be restrictions for some of them.

If a game is compatible with Joy-Con controller features, such as HD rumble, IR motion camera and motion sensors, some features will not be available when using the Nintendo Switch Lite console on its own. To use them, Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) are required.

To play games that are not compatible with handheld mode, players can connect Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) wirelessly with Nintendo Switch Lite.
