This adorable Humpty Dumpty silver-plated baby rattle was part of an estate sale of a antique collector. The rattle is whimsical with its cute egg-shaped Humpty Dumpty figure topping it; from his amusing face down to his tiny feet, he's sure to bring a smile! He is bi-faced or double-sided, so his frontal countenance is visible from two directions. He stands on a fanciful swirling base with three bells that make the rattle. The rattle is decorated with engraved leaves and scrolling designs. Etched into the wand portion is the name of "Victoria Hayes, born 3rd June 1848."

Further research revealed other rattles, included Victoria Hayes's name and birth date! This rattle is possible a copy of original silver rattles made in the Victorian Era. Please judge for yourself. However, the rattle is considered an antique.

The Humpty Dumpty rattle is in good to fair condition with a lovely patina and the vintage wear expected from handling by an infant. The three bells are in working order and jangle but do not appear silver-plated. There is no maker's mark.

Dimensions are approximately 6" long and 1.5" in width and depth.

The rattle is clean and will be packed with care when purchased.
