Antique medical scarifier for bloodletting from the brand W & H HUTCHINSON of Sheffield, dated c.1850 in England.

W & H Hutchinson They manufactured all types of medical instruments, from scarifiers to basic amputation instruments, they even manufactured veterinary instruments.  In the 19th century in England they were one of the best manufacturers of this type of items in England.

Our scarifier has 12 blades, it also has a depth regulator and it has its original box with the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, used by W&H Hutchinson as if it were its brand imprint.

STATE OF CONSERVATION:  Well preserved with signs of the passage of time. The metal is beautiful and with its original patina over the years, the trigger works perfectly and the blades come out very well, the lateral locking of the blades does not work, it used to wear out over the years, on the tip of the trigger There is a small piece of metal missing that must have broken, the depth adjuster works perfectly.  The box has the Royal Shield logo visible and legible.
