leaves of vellum, the largest measuring 22 inches by 12½ inches.
Dated 17 July in the 24th
year of the reign of King Charles 2nd. The year is at the foot of the document
- 1672.
People named in the
agreement are:

This is a Settlement made in
respect of a marriage “already had and solemnised” between Thomas Burman and
Anne.
Relates to the Grant of a
Messuage Tenement or Cottage in Staverton in the possession of Henry Burman and
Thomas Burman with Common of Pasture in the fields of Staverton for one cow,
one Breeder(?) and five sheep.
Also includes all bushes and
furzes growing in fields in Staverton called Godshill.
CONDITION. Contents complete. Small natural imperfection
to the lower margin of the smaller page of vellum. Otherwise no damage. Some
darkening and creasing to vellum in places but good condition for a document of
this age. Ink clear and free of fading. Pendant wax seal wrapped in the
original paper.
