Measures 27½ inches by 22 inches.

Dated 20 November in the 45th year of the reign of Lady Elizabeth. The year 1602 is written on the reverse.

People named in the agreement are:

Francis Barrington of Hatfield Broadoak in the County of Essex, Esq.

William Wright of Matching in the County of Essex, Yeoman.

Relates to the Demise, Grant and Farm Let of lands of the Manor of Brent Hall and Matching in the County of Essex.

CONDITION. Contents complete. Small natural imperfection to lower margin and a few tiny pin holes elsewhere. Otherwise no holes or tears. Age related darkening to vellum but good condition overall for a document of this age. I found the old style handwriting hard to decipher but the ink is generally clear  and free of fading. Retains the original vellum tab but the wax seal is lacking.
