Georges Yatrides: Born in 1931 in France to Greek parents, Georges Yatrides, a Franco-American artist, gained international acclaim as a distinguished Modernist and Fauve painter. His nomadic life took him across Switzerland, Greece, Africa, Mexico, the United States, and Great Britain. Influenced by Gauguin and the Fauvists, he garnered attention in 1956 at Madame Chastenet de Gery's Gallerie des Voyelles in Paris, leading to an exclusive world rights contract with Samuel E. Johnson of the International Galleries in Chicago. The 1970s marked a transformative period with Yatrides creating expansive compositions. Notable humanitarian contributions, like the auction of "The New Scrolls" in 1983, added depth to his legacy. Publications such as "Yatridès, Master of Time" (1992) and "Yatridès and His Century, the Anti-Picasso" (1994) showcase his lasting impact, while his interstellar icons featured in Kubrick's "2001: Space Odyssey" in 1968. With forthcoming works like "Yatridès and The Bible," Yatrides' legacy transcends artistic boundaries, reflecting a diverse cultural tapestry and commitment to humanitarian causes.
