The medal commemorates the 100th anniversary of the establishment by the Central Rada in December 1917 of the highest judicial institution in Ukraine - the General Court of the Ukrainian People's Republic, whose successor is the Supreme Court of Ukraine. The General Court consisted of three departments: civil, criminal, and administrative, and performed all functions in judicial matters, supervision of judicial institutions and judicial officers.


The obverse of the medal features: in the upper part - the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which, in the frame of the ornament, are scales - the oldest emblem of measure and justice, a symbol of justice; on both sides of the composition are the years 1917 and 2017; in the center, against a mirror background, is the Klovsky Palace (eighteenth century), which houses the Supreme Court. ), which houses the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the highest judicial body in the system of courts of general jurisdiction of Ukraine, and the inscriptions: UKRAINE (above the building), SUPREME COURT (below); in the upper right is the logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.


The reverse of the medal depicts an architectural monument of the mid-nineteenth century - the present mesty (a common name for state administrative bodies for central, provincial or district administration), where the General Court was located. To the left of the image of the above building, in a cartouche of floral ornamentation is a trident; under the building is the inscription 100/ YEARS. In a circle are the inscriptions: ESTABLISHMENT OF THE GENERAL COURT (above), UKRAINIAN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC (below): Taran Volodymyr, Haruk Oleksandr, Haruk Serhiy.
