As you will see from the photographs, it's in very good clean condition. It's been carefully maintained throughout its 24 years and by me over the last 7, during which time its been driven gently to maximise economy and not strain the engine and running gear.
I brought the car as a temporary car but its very comfortable and excellent on long journeys so kept it. Selling now as my job involves more driving generally and within ULEZ areas so Ive opted for a ULEZ compliant car with smaller engine. Nevertheless, its still very viable with a famously massive load capacity.
The manufacturer features make for a very comfortable journey and include automatic / tiptronic gearbox, heated leather seats with driver's electric with memory, climate control (AC blows cold), cruise control, electric mirrors (heating / folding), trip computer, electric windows front and rear, electric slide / tilt sunroof with sun blind. I have since fitted a non standard JVC head unit (See pics of how it connects using demo phone in the cradle). This is connectable to Apple / Android (via USB-C). Its mirrors the phone display for Sat Nav etc and you need to download the Mirroring OA for JVC app . The steering wheel audio controls are not compliant with the JVC head unit. I have also fitted a reversing camera (via the JVC head unit) and a separate front & rear dash cam.The original Volvo head unit and drink holder is supplied, as are other items including tow bar and electrics.
The car has been annually serviced and will be supplied with a comprehensive service and repair record which covers the last 19 years. It has a valid MOT until October 2024. Details of the certificate and advisories can be seen on the .gov MOT check web page.
The car is provided with 2 original keys and working fobs. The tyres have 4 to 5mm on the rear, and 1 to 2mm on the front. The cam and auxilliary belt have been changed at 147k miles.
I have recently listed and sold this car on Ebay but due to a problem at the point of sale, the buyer decided not to proceed with the purchase. I have since had the issue looked at and it now drives well but, the details of the issue are set out in item number 1 below.
Items to be aware of - please read...
1 . (At time of sale). The oil light and a warning message advising no oil pressure and to stop immediately. I have since had the engine flushed and carbon deposits were collected in the filter and bowl. It's had fresh oil and runs and the engine runs quietly, smoothly with no unusual noises. The old oil filter was cut apart to inspect for metallic debris and there was none, so believe the engine is in good condition. The test drive upto 60mph had no issues, but the mechanic advised may be prudent to remove the sump to examine the oil pump O rings, pick up pipe and gauze to ensure that these are enabling free oil flow.
2. The engine speed idles fast. Not always but when it does - 950 to 1400rpm. Diagnostic didnt find faults. I had the throttle housing replaced 3 years ago (at the time of the Cam and auxilliary belt). Possibly relating to this???
3. Steering full lock turning right...the rubber end stop is missing so the wheel slightly over turns and the wheel rubs the arch. I've hunted for one which matches the left one...hard to find (looks like a half cotton reel).
4. The dash lights behind the heater controls work intermittently. (Heater controls work fine)
5. One of the electric window switch lights in the drivers door doesnt work, but switches operate the 4 windows
6. Fuel filler door doesn't lock.
7. As expected, there are small bodywork areas that whilst dont require attention but you may wish to have these looked at. The most notable is a small area of corrosion on the lip of the bonnett, just above the headlight.
I cannot verify that the above issues are ALL of the issues and there may be others unidentified but am stating the above for clarity and honesty. I have a solid eBay track record and the car is being sold in good faith but is sold as seen.
