This Spode Copeland Tower Game Bird Plate features the Plover #7, which is rare and collectible.

The series of blue & white plates depicts game birds of England in their natural habitat, with shades of blue on a cream base.  Using a historic shape  with a scalloped & fluted edge, the rim is decorated with a blue transfer of flowers.   Copeland Spode used this shape for many patterns in dark blue, light  bue, pink, brown & black.   Scenes & patterns depicted range from the well known "Italian Tower" to the hard to find "Zoological " pattern.

This limited edition decorative plate is a great example of English Transferware from the prestigious Copeland Spode pottery and the incised date on back- N43- indicates a production date of November 1943.

The plate has a diameter of 10 3/4" inches and weighs 1.2 lbs.

It is perfect for all occasions and makes a great addition to any collection.

In Perfect Condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.

Please see next last picture showing a Bonhams Auction sale of 12 plates in this pattern.
