It comes with a genuine Rodenstock front cap LOL. It's a 90mm cap and fits very tightly, probably better than a Schneider would. I'm still searching my inventory for a rear one (80mm). At worst it will ship with an aftermarket cap that will be a good/close fit. The flange is practically spotless.
This is an oldie but goodie. It's unusual to see these in such pristine condition, I've never seen one this nice. This was made while Eisenhower was President. This obviously wasn't used very much and shows no signs of erosion/corrosion from chemical exposure. It has various nicks, mostly in the plastic skirt, the glass is defect free. There is no excess "haze" (this lens is >60 years old), further suggesting that if it was ever in a darkroom it wasn't for long. The iris is clean and operates smoothly.
People have actually mounted these in shutters for use on cameras.
For the past 20+ years it has been unused and stored in a climate-controlled smoke-free environment.
It's a Schneider... of course it has Schneideritis. The bubbles are tiny, I see no peeling or flaking.
I've looked at the other lenses on Ebay - this one stands out.
I'm pricing it accordingly.
I didn't do anything beyond a quick wipe down, so debris is present in the grooves and threads, it will clean up easily.
I wanted to get this up quickly, so I didn't spend much time taking photos.
