ANTIQUE, VICTORIAN – EDWARDIANLARGE, CAST BRASS., TILTING CANDLE REFLECTOR

Antique Victorian - Edwardian large,heavy, cast brass, table shape, tilting candle reflector, with a circular shapetop which has a checkerboard pattern, and a central ornamental column sittingon three ornamental legs.

This candlereflector is 140 mm., high, the circular top is 93 mm., diameter, the base is110 mm., wide and weighs 460 grams.

The maker isnot known. This candle reflector may be made in England and date from 1880-1908, but the country of origin or age cannot be guaranteed.

The limited light provided by a candlecould be increased by reflecting as much of it as possible, by means of apolished reflector. These came in many shapes and sizes.

Thisattractive brass candle reflector was pre-owned, in good condition, does nothave any deep gouges or scratches, but minor scratches and marked areascommensurate with age, usage. All moving parts are secure. A great piece ofsocial history to display. Seller’s ref. AA233
