Description

Object: Imari bowl from the mid-Edo period (late 18th century), decorated in underglaze blue as well as overglaze enamels and gold.


Decoration: Floral (aubergines).


Size: Diameter 14 cm (5.5"), height 5 cm (2").

Marks: "Sei ka nen sei" (in Japanese kanji characters, underglaze blue) - a spurious Chinese Ming Chenghua reign mark.

State: Excellent - no chips, cracks or repairs.
