What can I tell you?, except that this writing box has been used a lot so much so that it needs to be repaired. Someone crafty can bring it back to life. It is soaked in good vibrations. It has also  been the stand for the reservation ( the compartments were used for receipts, memos, paper, pens and other necessities at the reservation desk ) book at the Manhattan's best kept secret, The BoxTree - a high end restaurant no longer in existence. However the memories for my family and the ones who were guests, will last forever. You can see the place in Architectural magazine November 1987 edition.
