Battery does NOT charge.
If there's an issue with laptop shutdown during basic use, disconnect the battery. Some of these will default to shutdown when the battery has failed (likely due to age) Unplug the battery and the laptop will operate without shutdown. The units that had this issue upon testing have already had their battery unplugged. We do not know if a new battery will restore the laptop to like-new condition since we do not have this battery to test against the fault.
