Here is a very nice example of one of the scarcer color variations of the Marx #599 New York Central industrial switcher.  The vast majority of them are black in color.  This is a maroon switcher with yellow lettering.  Powered by a double reduction type AC powered motor which is factory made to go in one direction only (NO reverse unit ever installed).  This particular version has a plastic knuckle type rear coupler.  Runs well in its one direction and the headlight works fine.  The double reduction motor allows it to move quite slowly, which looks correct for a switcher.  Most of these units out there have serious damage, but this one not so.  You will notice that the original black plastic horn is still there.  The front end has no chips or breaks.  The cab roof is complete and intact.  There are some stress marks that you can see around the screwhole at the front and in the rear near the coupler, which I tried to highlight in the pictures.  Photos from many angles, with a yardstick in most shots for size reference, plus a "bench test" video of the engine running and the headlight working.  Priced reasonably, with only actual USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail shipping cost on the almost 2 pound package charged to the winner!
