This is a very valuable German G&T company.
G&T is an abbreviation for GRAMOPHONE & TYPEWRITER Co.

The sound box will also be his GRAMOPHONE original.

This Monarch will be a very valuable model.
At this time, G&T (Victor, UK) had branch offices in Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Russia, and Spain. Basic parts were exported to each branch, and wooden cabinets were produced in small lots with unique designs for each country. There are only a few British Victor gramophones in existence, but phonographs made by European companies are even rarer, or perhaps impossible to obtain.

Unique designs such as this one also exist in small batches, and are often sold at higher prices overseas than the general American Victor trumpet gramophone model with wood horn. At that time, the parts needed to function as a phonograph, such as the mainspring motor, sound box, back bracket, tone arm, and bugle, were exported from the United States to the United Kingdom to European companies, so the cost of getting the parts to European companies was I think it was huge. Therefore, Victor products from European companies are of the highest quality! !
HMV's earliest high-end phonographs had a perfectly round celluloid-coated recording angel embedded in the top of the cabinet. There is also a serial plate on the top of the cabinet.
Both (plates and celluloid) are often lost. The period when 8-inch turntables were produced in a thin plate shape was limited to less than two years, and precious small tone arms and small elbows were still in use. The wonderful hand-carved cabinet is one of a kind! It will be a more elaborate cabinet than the G&T Senior Monarch and his Victor D and Monarch Special. From this point of view, you can feel that it was a super high-end product at the time!
The production number is thought to be less than 2000 units. The production volume of the generally famous American Victor No. 6 is 17,468 units, but it is currently difficult to obtain, so this German Monarch is an item that cannot be obtained due to the low production volume. There are probably only one or two in Japan, including our G&T, but you might not be able to find anything this good even if you search all over the world! ! ! This is a gramophone that is over 115 years old, but the gears and mainspring are in very good condition, so you can use it with confidence!
The famous British Victor HMV Nipper dog was adopted around 1909. The trademark registration mark before 1909 will be an angel. Recording Angel is a registered trademark of Victor in the UK.

We also sell other phonographs.
