・Dyed red to prevent counterfeiting. This red dye cost 3 - 10 times as much as the same amount of gold.


・This dye was also used as a raw material for lipstick. The main production area was present-day Yamanashi Prefecture.


・In order to forge this bill, it was first necessary to use this refreshing red dye to reproduce the paper of the bill, but in that case the production cost would easily exceed the amount on the face of this bill. So to speak, the tail is wagging the dog situation.
