Vintage John Herschel Aluminum Precision Pantograph Drafting Tool in Box, c. 1962.

The Pantograph is used for enlarging, reducing, as well as reproducing of pictures, drawings, maps, etc.
The Pantograph consists of four bars forming a parallelogram and a fulcrum (standard or foot) which should be securely fastened at the left hand edge of the drawing board or table.

Included is a page of instructions. The condition is very good. The aluminum bars are straight and the printed numbering is perfect. The facing is a silver satin matte surface. The underside has contact marks, minor. The lower box has torn corners  and taped awhile ago. A former owner's name is on the top. Smoke-free environment.
