An original, antique, copper-engraved map of Herefordshire by Robert Morden and published in London in the 1722 edition of Camden's Britannia (the second edition to use Morden's maps).

The map is printed on good quality hand-laid paper and bears the horse watermark common to the 1722 edition of Camden's Britannia. It shows the entire county and includes a decorative title cartouche, the sellers imprint (Abel Swale, Awnsham & John Churchill) and three distance scales. The printed area measures approximately 420mm x 360mm with small margins beyond, blank verso.

Condition report: Very good condition; printed on good quality hand-laid paper; horse watermark as appropriate to 1722 edition of Camden's Britannia; centrefold as published; uncoloured as published; very light age toning appropriate to a 295 year old map; faint stain at the top of the sheet entering the printed area; slight creasing at the base of the sheet near the centrefold.
