This chest of drawers was made by a chest of drawers craftsmen in Shizuoka Prefecture during the Edo period. During the Edo period, Shizuoka Prefecture was Suruga, the main territory of Tokugawa Ieyasu. After Ieyasu's death, the best shrine carpenters from all over the country were gathered to build Toshoji Temple to enshrine Ieyasu. It was made by the same shrine carpenter, so it is packed with the best technology of the time.

The mechanism of the mechanism was handmade one by one by the shrine carpenter at the time. Also, the reason why this chest of drawers was made is that during the Edo period, it was purposely made to prevent valuables from being easily stolen.

Although this chest of drawers has survived various periods of history, it is in very good condition. There is supposed to be a key in the bottom drawer, but that is missing. However, don't worry, the drawer will open without any problems.
Also, one of the handles on the third step is missing, but it can be opened and closed without any problems.
