This National (Panasonic) Hi-Fi Sound Control System Switchbox was designed to switch between different Hi-Fi components, and was a great way to quickly compare the sound of different audio systems. The National Hi-Fi components at the time were the forerunners to Technics components, first released in 1965, and for many years had both names printed on them (i.e. National Technics).

This Switchbox was given to my family's stereo store over 50 years ago in the 1960s. It wasn’t really used at the time, but just put into storage, and now after many decades has been discovered after a store room clean out, and is available to buy. Because it was packed up so well, it’s still in excellent almost near new condition, complete with a remote switch box, phono pre-amp, display signs with lights, and lots of wiring. It's untested, and there is no warranty, but there is not much inside to go wrong. There's mainly lots of switches, slide controls and wiring etc, and it's made in Japan for added reliability. Some of the switches and slider pots will probably need cleaning with WD-40 or similar after all the years of storage. It's a very rare find, especially in such good physical condition, and an opportunity to own a piece of National Technics history. It’ll look awesome in your sound studio, or it could even make an amazing prop for a retro movie.
