"Modern Priscilla" ran from 1887 until 1930, and was an "illustrated journal devoted to art needlework, fashions, home decoration, and other household matters" according to the description in this very issue. This magazine covered many related topics as well. This is an original and complete printing of the September 1913 issue (vol. 27, number 7) and it features a very nice cover of a young Dutch girl, seated at a chair-table, working on a piece of hand embroidery. There is a circular (no doubt hand-woven) rug on the floor. The magazine measures approx. 10 1/8" x 14" in size, and the cover could certainly be framed, or the magazine could be used as-is! The contents of this issue include "The Little Green Door" by Alice Louise Lee; "The Very Smart New Shirt-Waist," "Cheese in the Everyday Diet," "Priscilla Embroiders for Priscilla Fashions," "The Popular Filet Crochet" by Mrs. F. W. Kettelle, "First Layette for the New Baby" by Lilian Barton Wilson, "Draped Skirts Appearing in Fall Models," "American Women as Municipal Housekeepers" by Harriet Brunkhurst, "Sea Gelatine Desserts" by Mrs. M. A. Emmons, "Simple Models for School Days," "Embroidered Household Linens," "Five New Designs for Corset Covers," "Youthful Costumes," "Helps for Housekeepers," "Mother Problems" by Dr. Maude Kent, "The Fashionable Drop Shoulder" by Cathleen Cameron, "Table Pieces in Bulgarian Embroidery," "Decorated Plates for Children" and much more. Excellent images of 1910s fashions in this issue!
