Originally published in a series of informational pamphlets distributed to banks and insurance companies, George Samuel Clason's The Richest Man in Babylon was first published in book form in 1926, and privately printed in a hardcover format. Through a series of parables set in ancient Babylon, the book dispenses elementary lessons in financial investment for both the household and business.
