Hello,

You are bidding on a newly assembled (factory fresh Mouser parts) digital display – called the DFD-2 / DG-5 Clone – which will provide a very accurate, real time frequency display for several Heathkit and Kenwood radios (see below).  It has a .36 inch green digital display and a PCB - - - - - measuring a small 2 by 3 inches - - - which is conducive for mounting within a radio like the SB / HW / HR series - or - in a small cabinet of the user's preference.  There is ample power / filtering on the PCB should the purchaser later decide to add a larger (.5 inch) display - just 4 connections need to be made.

This unit works by subtracting the sum of the BFO and VFO frequencies from the Heterodyne Oscillator (HFO) frequency. With it you’ll always know exactly where you are – no more need to interpret hash marks, nail biting or using an outboard crystal calibrator.  The frequency is presented in the .1 khz format.

Unlike other displays that you may see, there's no reset button, power LED, add on Arduino processor, bulky RCA jacks or any other encumbrances.  It consists of just 5 integrated circuits on a printed circuit board measuring 3 by 2 inches.  You simply connect it up and it flat-out works!

Here are radios with which it has been proven to work as well as the method of inter-connection. All require a powering source of 12 VDC.

        # - these radios require a simple HFO buffer circuit – see attached schematic.

The unit can either be mounted within the radio or in a separate case – hook up wire, coaxial connecting cables, jacks, plugs (etc) are not included.  You are bidding on the assembled PCB with connected display – and nothing else.

The purchaser will be sent links to my website with circuit diagrams and detailed radio interfacing instructions (see schematic - lower right corner).

CONUS only – no international sales and no returns.  Will ship promptly via Priority Mail
