FINE ANTIQUE GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER & BARLEY TWIST BALEEN HANDLE PUNCH LADLE c1820s

On offer is this fine antique Georgian solid silver punch ladle, with elegant decoration to the front of the stem and around the top of the bowl, and the customary baleen barley twist handle, silver tipped - please see the photos - and they do not do it justice.  Due to their size, these ladles are always difficult to photograph satisfactorily, to show all the wonderful crafting and detail.

It is probably European in origin.

HALLMARKS:           No obvious set of hallmarks - letter 'E' to the reverse of the stem - tests silver.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS/WEIGHT:                        It is about 38cm in length; 7cm in diameter across the bowl, including the rim; and weighs just under 60g.

CONDITION:                        It is in pretty good antique condition overall, especially considering it is 200 years old, the usual signs of wear commensurate with age and use.  There is a very old repair to the silver handle/bowl and the stem is slightly twisted in this area.  It is firmly attached, there are no splits or dents.  If you have any questions, please ask.  Any dark marks, etc are reflections or bits of age-related patina.
