Offered here is a bound Volume VII (as well, at the back, the last issue [July 1, 1854) of Volume VI) of Gleason's Pictorial Drawing Room Companion.  Gleason's is a fascinating compendium of articles, serialized publications and illustrations of the time.

Most interestingly, perhaps, in this volume are the articles and illustrations related to Commodore Perry's American visit to Japan.

On page 68 of this volume there is a portrait of and article about Commodore Perry.  There are also a series of ten detailed and interesting articles by the Reverend Luther Farnham about Japan and the Japanese people.  On pages 168-169, there are a set of illustrations with explanations showing Japan of the period.

The dimensions of this bound volume are 15 1/4 inches in height by 11 1/4 inches in width.

This bound volume is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Please read the condition description carefully and review the photographs.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  For example, offered maps are of the period.  I do my best to accurately describe the items being sold, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
